The finished format is fixed in millimetres before anything else happens. Everything that follows works towards that one number.

The picture is broken down into numbered fields, each of them at least four millimetres across, and the version you approve is the one that goes to print.

Each field is tied to a numbered colour, and the tubes that come with your template are the ones your picture asked for.
